About the Artist

"The collective of energy and gestures are the art itself, what manifests on the canvases is a visual representation of that expression. This is what abstract expressionism is for me and my art. For the observer to feel the energy I put into a painting and for that in turn to invoke memories, feelings and thoughts of their own. The balance between the chaotic splashes of paint, the calm restraint, and the placement of colour and texture are what I want to share."

Michelle J Munas, came from an artistic family, which naturally led her to pursue art and graphic design throughout her school life, including for her London Advanced Levels where she focused on Fine Art and Sculpture. Later she went on to complete her Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Design from Northumbria University through the Academy of Design.

While working in the fashion industry, she began to try her hand at abstract art which has now become her vice.

'Out on my balcony surrounded by fresh air and nature, I immerse myself in music to help my feelings over-ride the logical side of my brain to enable my creativity to take over and run riot.'

Michelles' work is often influenced by the colours, textures, and rhythms of the natural world. Her work is on occasion also created and released in ‘series,’ or a group of paintings that all share the same inspirational starting point.
